On the off-chance that he hasn’t told the entire world already, it’s our pleasure to announce that shy, retiring Countryman Fairs main man, Ian Harford, has crowned his shooting year by winning the UKAHFT Matchplay Championship. As its name suggests, this tournament is based on the matchplay golf format, where competitors go head-to-head and the field is gradually whittled down until the Matchplay Champion is the last man (or woman) standing. Should anyone wish to hear a target-by-target account from Ian himself at the Midland Game Fair, he’ll be the one in the matching, and extremely fetching, tweed jacket, plus-fours and attractive cap. Congratulations, Ian, and it’s great to see one of the quiet guys doing so well.
