Time Well SpentJune 15, 2022
British Shooting Show Managing Director, John Alison, extends a personal invitation to BSS 2019

The British Shooting show is now entering its 11th year and from the start we placed a massive emphasis on airguns. The first show, held at Newark Showground, was very interesting to say the least, with a large marquee open to the elements along one side, straw bales as shooting points and targets set out on the grass frontage. The wooden flooring within the marquee made for a ‘challenging’ platform, and as people moved around, you felt as if you were on a fairground waltzer!
Moving up in the world
Who would have thought from this humble beginning, the show would go on to take over hall after hall of the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham, the finest exhibition centre of its kind in the UK. As the organiser of the British Shooting Show, I’m obliged to say that being spoken of on the same level as the IWA show in Germany and the S.H.O.T. Show held in the USA, fills my staff and I with pride, and I’d like to invite Airgun World readers, their families and friends, to enjoy our three-day 2019 event along with us.

The sheer size of these stands highlights the importance placed on the British Shooting Show as the industry’s premier event for launching new products to an ever-hungry audience.
Keeping the visitor entertained!
The enormous Airgun Arena is the perfect place to get face to face with manufactures and retailers to discuss the current and latest models, including spring, gas-ram, pre-charged pneumatic and CO2 powered airguns on display, plus a huge range of accessories. Younger visitors, under the supervision of qualified range officers, can have their first introduction to target sports. The manufacturers’ lanes provide an ideal opportunity to those looking for a new airgun the chance to try before buying.
Or why not visit the ‘Night Vision Tunnels’ to try the latest hi-tech hardware before making your final purchase! With over 60 optics brands represented, including Athlon Optics, Cobra Optics, Discovery, EOTech, FLIR, GECO, Hawke Sport Optics, Kite Optics, Leica Sports Optics, Minox, MTC Optics, Nikko Stirling, Nitesite, Night Vision UK, Pulsar, Schmidt & Bender, Sightmark, Sig Sauer, Swarovski Optik, Trijicon, Vortex, and Zeiss at the show there will be something for target shooters, hunters and plinkers alike.
New launches
An awesome line-up of product launches are in the pipeline for the 2019 BSS, although of course at this stage manufacturers are keeping precise details strictly under cover. One thing is for certain, the 2019 British Shooting Show has broken its own records set over the past ten years when it comes to airguns, optics and accessories being exhibited.
