Southern Hunter Series

Ah, it’s that magical time of year again – when mud becomes your best friend, the wind laughs at your shots, rain turns everything to soup and tea and bacon rolls are considered essential survival gear. Yes, it’s the Southern Hunter Series. There’s a Midland Hunter Series up north, sure, but the southerners are where the cool kids hang out.

Venues and classes for every type of shooter

For the 2025/2026 season, we kick off at Buxted and finish at Bisley, with adventures in Mile Oak, Meon Valley, Horsham, Mays and Maldon along the way. We’ve got classes for Open, Springer, .22, Veterans, Ladies, Juniors, Sticks – and even people called Barry – so there’s truly something for everyone.

The first round at Buxted started with a biblical downpour on the drive down. But once we arrived, the sun smiled on us, the skies turned blue, and the wind…well, it kept us honest. Highlights? Simon Marriott smashed 58, Ihab Alfred – or Alf to friends and enemies – nailed 57 with his TX200 Springer. Charles Peal hit 54 in .22, our Viking Lady Hugborg Hudson scored 50, Paul Bradford 58 in Veterans, Kev Turner 53 in Sticks and Oli Usher 46 in Juniors.

Fun, mud, and camaraderie on the range

Friendly competition, banter, mud-splattered clothes and a serious love of shooting – that’s the Southern Hunter Series. Fancy joining us? Grab your kit, steel yourself for wind and rain, and come have a proper laugh while shooting some incredible scores.
