Entries are now open for the revamped Air Series 2025/26, which ventures overseas for the first time as Round 4 heads to Jersey.
“In this our fifth year,” said British Shooting’s Lauren Freeman, “we will present a new improved format recognising the growing strength of the 10m disciplines in GBR across Paralympic and Olympic shooting.”
Most significantly, a full day will be dedicated to 10m air rifle prone shooting for Paralympic athletes, with competitors testing their skills before frontrunners progress for their chance at an Air Series medal. Junior athletes also benefit from the revamp, with separate rifle and pistol finals giving them a chance to shine.
“Setting the conditions for our athletes to perform under pressure has always been a real mainstay of the Air Series,” said rifle and pistol head coach Craig Dower. British Shooting has announced a new elimination-style format for rifle and pistol shooting, mirroring international competitions. Elimination stages will be followed by qualifiers, then finals for the top eight athletes.
The four-round series runs from October to February, with three rounds at Aldersley before the Jersey adventure. Athletes compete for coveted places at the British Grand Final at the end of March 2026.
While Round 1 is already fully booked, prospective athletes are encouraged to register for Round 2 (5-7 December), which opened for entries on 12 September.
