Know the law. Shoot responsibly. Protect the sport.
Airgun legislation in the UK is not straightforward – and getting it wrong can have serious consequences. Laws vary significantly across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, and every airgun shooter has a responsibility to understand exactly where they stand.
In England and Wales, air rifles up to 12ft/lb and air pistols up to 6ft/lb can be owned and used without a licence. In Scotland, all air weapons require an Air Weapon Certificate regardless of power. In Northern Ireland, all airguns generating more than 1J of power require a firearms certificate.
Airgun World cuts through the complexity. Our legislation section keeps you informed on power limits, age restrictions, where you can shoot, safe storage requirements, and any changes to the law that affect you.
