Designed for the hunter who demands both performance and agility, the Alpex Pro A50PL sheds nearly 300g compared to the original 4K. But can a fixed f/1.8 aperture and a new 12MP sensor truly match the legendary low-light capability of its predecessor? We put it through its paces on everything from sub-12 airguns to centrefires to find out.
In today’s video, we’re looking at the highly anticipated successor to the legendary Alpex 4K: the HikMicro Alpex Pro A50PL.
Having used the original 4K on my deer rig for years, I wanted to move past the spec sheet and answer the three fundamental questions every hunter actually cares about:
1. Has the daytime performance actually improved?
2. Does the f/1.8 aperture and “Light Pro” algorithm get the job done?
3. Does the narrower field of view and 4x base mag make any difference?
I’ve put this unit through its paces on an FAC airgun, a centrefire rifle, and a sub-12ft/lb airgun to see if this is a genuine evolution or just a fancy facelift.
