Shop profile: Wighill Park Guns in North Yorkshire

It’s been in business for over 30 years, and now it’s under new management

Wighill Park Guns is a retail shooting shop based in Wighill, North Yorkshire and it has been running successfully since 1985, providing quality products and advice to shooting enthusiasts in and surrounding Yorkshire. Nigel and Jan Lambert recently handed over the reins to Luke Stares, a keen shooter himself, who has a wealth of knowledge and experience in the industry. Luke will be putting his own stamp on the shop and in 2019 he’s planned a series of exciting developments.

Expanding the service

Wighill Park Guns has built its enviable reputation on stocking a wide range of high quality products and providing the specialist advice its customers need to get the very best from them. This key feature will continue to be Wighill’s trademark, and Luke has plans to extend the range of his business to cover firearms, shotguns, ammunition and accessories, in store. Basically, there will be much more to buy, enjoy and learn about as Wighill Park Guns moves forward.

Range facility

Wighill Park Guns has an Indoor airgun range which allows customers to hold and test rifles and pistols to get a true feel for the product. It also allows Wighill staff to set up the product if required by adding a scope and zeroing it in. Luke will be renovating the range to include two lanes with an upgraded target retrieval system. This will allow customers to also ‘pay and play’ on the range and offer workshop sessions to the next generation of young shooters, or for anyone who wishes to take up airgunning.

Online facility on approach

Wighill Park Guns currently has its own website which showcases the products on offer and information regarding the shop. Luke will also be expanding the website so customers are able to actually purchase the products which can be seen and then be delivered to the customer directly.
