Updated DRS platform unveiled by FX Airguns

FX Airguns has unveiled the DRS MKII, an updated version of its DRS platform that arrives with a redesigned barrel system, larger plenums, increased airflow and a broader range of models across both its Classic and Tactical lines.

Original DRS design introduced in 2023

The original DRS, launched in 2023, integrated the air reservoir directly into the barrel assembly – a departure from conventional PCP design that produced a lighter, more streamlined rifle at a price point unusual for a premium manufacturer.

The MKII’s most notable engineering change separates the reservoir and barrel liner within that assembly, allowing shooters to swap liners without first degassing the rifle. Picatinny rails have been redesigned across the range and the increased airflow and plenum volume are intended to lift both power and consistency.

New Classic and Tactical models added

Four new models join the line-up. Within the Classic range, FX has introduced a Red Line laminate variant featuring a grey-and-red stock with adjustable comb and M-LOK forend rails as standard. The Tactical platform gains a high-capacity bottle system – available in carbon fibre or alloy – taking air capacity to 760cc, plus a Take Down variant fitted with a 380mm barrel for those prioritising portability.

.

Expanded barrel lengths and calibre options

Barrel length options now run to four: 380mm Micro, 500mm Compact, 600mm Standard and 700mm Sniper. UK buyers of sub-12 ft/lb rifles gain .20 and .25 calibre choices alongside the established .177 and .22, while FAC shooters see .30 calibre added for 2026.

The DRS MKII Pro returns in the MDT chassis configuration, combining the new barrel architecture with the rigid all-metal chassis designed for competition and range use.
